It is estimated that 250-350 children are born with hearing loss every year in Palestine. Most of those children need cochlear implants and extensive hearing rehabilitation early in life (ideally younger than 3 years of age) to have the best chance to improve.
Children with hearing loss in most developing countries, including Palestine, has limited access to cochlear implants, hearing aids, and proper rehabilitation. This carries a major longterm effect with disability on those children.
We are a Non-Profit organization based in the USA that provides the first and only comprehensive hearing services to underserved children in the Palestine. These include cochlear implants, hearing aids and hearing rehabilitation.
Implanted around "300" cochlear implants to help children hear and talk for the first time
Established multiple advanced hearing rehabilitation centers
Trained local surgical teams to be able to perform all the necessary procedures independently
Children treated were equally distributed between males and females.
Most children treated were less than 3-years-old as they have the highest chance of improvement with minimal rehabilitation.
Most children were from West Bank. We are currently focused on treating hundreds of children with hearing loss in Gaza.
